Authentication Error Logging into VCFA Local Admin After Upgrade to 9.1

Issue/Introduction

Users experience an "Authentication Error" on the login prompt when attempting to log into VCF Automation (VCFA). The local 'admin' password fails to authenticate after upgrading from version 9.0 to 9.1. Additionally, SSO sync issues may be observed, preventing certain users from logging into SSO after reconfiguring SSO in Operations.

Environment

VCF Automation 9.0, 9.1

Cause

The local 'admin' password is changed during the upgrade process, it is overwritten by the password provided in the initial configuration form when triggering the upgrade.

Resolution

 

• Identify the new password that was provided in the initial form when the upgrade was triggered.

• Use this new password to authenticate instead of the legacy local 'admin' password utilized in version 9.0.
