SMR031A - RINGBUFFER STILL IN USE - CURRENT SYSLOG LINES MIGHT NOT BE COLLECTED.

Resolution

This is a new missing message for SMR. Please insert into your SMR Installation Guide Appendix B titled "CA-SMR Messages and Codes" at the bottom of page B-10 or at the top of page B-11.

Message:                                                            

SMR031A - RINGBUFFER STILL IN USE - CURRENT SYSLOG LINES MIGHT NOT BE COLLECTED.   

                                                        

Reason:                                                             

The SMR started task has abended, or has been cancelled or purged but

the RINGBUFFER is still in use to collect the current system log.   

                                                                    

Action:                                                             

Restart the SMR started task and ensure it is running successfully.  

This can occur if multiple SYSLOGs are being spooled to the same HOLD file from multiple LPARS at the same time window. This is a rare situation since standard practice is to stagger the CAPLWTR task to not overlap the same time window.
