Upgrade to 4.3.1 fails at Prepare stage step 4 of 6 Download_patch - PAM

Issue/Introduction

The PAM Live Upgrader fails during the Prepare stage at step 4 of 6 (Download_patch). This is observed on a standalone PAM server with a long upgrade history. 

Environment

Privileged Access Manager (PAM) 4.3.0

Standalone appliance, never clustered.

Cause

Standalone PAM appliances with an extensive upgrade history going back to early PAM 3.X releases may be missing a specific configuration parameter in a file read by the Live Upgrader. The Live Upgrader fails over the missing parameter in the Download_patch step.

Resolution

This problem is expected to be fixed in future releases. If you encounter this problem, open a case with PAM Support. A workaround is available using SSH debug access.

Additional Information

The problem may be observed when applying patches other than the 4.3.1 upgrade patch to a standalone PAM 4.3.0 server.
