Issue/Introduction

Need compatibility information for z/OS 3.1. Is CA 7 r12.1 compatible with z/OS 3.1, and is any maintenance required before the upgrade?

Resolution

CA 7 Workload Automation Release 12.1 is fully compatible with z/OS 3.1. No additional PTFs are required for the CA 7 product itself to support this operating system level.

To ensure a successful environment upgrade, follow these steps:

1. Verify the current CA 7 release by issuing the following online command: /DISPLAY,ST=CA7
2. Ensure the Datacom/AD 15.1 environment is current on maintenance. Datacom/AD 15.1 is required for CA 7 r12.1 and is also fully compatible with z/OS 3.1.
