Issue/Introduction

When attempting to perform the "Export Automation" process in ARD version 3.6.0.51, the following behavior occurs:

  • The application initiates the export but immediately crashes.
  • A fatal error message or crash dump is generated.
  • The export file is not created.

Cause

This issue is caused by a product defect where specific automation configurations or connection parameters cause the export engine to encounter a memory or execution fault during the generation phase.

Resolution

This defect has been resolved in a cumulative patch release. To fix the crash, upgrade to ARD version 3.6.0.65 or later.

Steps to apply the fix:

  1. Navigate to the Broadcom Support Portal.
  2. Go to My Downloads > Agile Requirements Designer.
  3. Locate and download Cumulative Patch 3.6.0.65 (Solution Fix #99112773).
  4. Install the patch following the standard ARD Studio update procedure.
  5. Verify the fix by re-running the Export Automation process.

Additional Troubleshooting: If the crash persists after the update:

  • Ensure the Export Codec in the "Export Details" tab of your automation configuration is set to UTF-8.
  • Verify that the target destination URL (e.g., Azure or local repository) is reachable and correctly formatted.
