Issue/Introduction
A Virtual Machine (VM) is displayed as inaccessible within the vCenter Server user interface.
Power operations, migrations, and configuration changes cannot be performed on the affected virtual machine.
Environment
VMware vCenter Server
VMware vSphere ESXi
Cause
The NFS datastore containing the virtual machine configuration (.vmx) file is currently not accessible to the ESXi host.
Resolution
Log in to the vSphere Client.
Select the affected virtual machine and identify the datastore on which its files reside.
Navigate to the ESXi host where the virtual machine is currently registered.
Resolve the datastore accessibility issue by following the specific troubleshooting steps outlined in KB Troubleshooting NFS datastore connectivity issues.
Once the datastore is successfully remounted and accessible, verify that the virtual machine status updates automatically.
