VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

  • After upgrading VCF Operations to 9.1, attempting to access SDDC Manager (Operate > Administration) or Lifecycle (Build > Lifecycle) from the VCF Operations UI fails with the following error:

Failed to download the manifest from: https://<VCF_OPS_FQDN>/plugin/manifests-9.0.2.0.251.

  • VCF Operations continue to reference the obsolete 9.0.2 manifest version instead of the upgraded 9.1 manifest.

  • In VCF Operations UI (VCF Operation UI > Control Panel > Collection Status > VCF Operation node > Infrastructure Management Adapter) reports a collection status warning:

Duplicate key ###################### (attempted merging values com.integrien.alive.common.adapter3.config.CertificateConfig and com.integrien.alive.common.adapter3.config.CertificateConfig))

Environment

VCF Operations 9.1.x

Cause

This issue occurs because stale certificate thumbprint entries remain in the Trusted Certificates store of VCF Operation 9.1 following an upgrade.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must take a snapshot of the VCF Operations virtual machine and remove the conflicting certificate entry from the Trusted Certificates store.

  1. Snapshot the primary node. Reference Snapshot Creation in VMware Aria Operations.
  2. In VCF operations UI, Navigate to Administration > Control Plane > Trusted Certificates.
  3. Locate and delete the duplicate certificate entry matching the thumbprint identified in the collection status warning.
  4. Navigate to Build > Lifecycle to confirm the VCF inventory loads successfully.
