RabbitMQ: Compatibility of linter, standby-replication and delayed queues plugins in Windows

Issue/Introduction

 

Can an existing open-source (OSS) RabbitMQ customer currently running on a Windows environment use linter, standby-replication and delayed queues plugins?  Are there options to enable these plugins with OSS RMQ or do they have to migrate to Tanzu RabbitMQ ?

 

Environment

 All supported Open-Source (OSS) RabbitMQ versions on Windows.

Resolution

• Warm Standby Replication (WSR) is an enterprise extension available only in VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ. This commercial plugin can be enabled on an OSS RabbitMQ node running on Windows. However, this requires acquiring the appropriate Tanzu RabbitMQ commercial licensing.
• Delayed Queues is currently incompatible with Windows environments. To leverage native delayed queues, the customer must run Tanzu RabbitMQ on a supported Linux or Kubernetes runtime.
• Linter is not available as a standalone plugin.
