Issue/Introduction

Symptoms

When attempting to add a new calendar event (specifically an offset event) to an existing calendar in Automic Web Interface (AWI), the following error appears:

Error during XRequest com.uc4.communication.requests.SaveObject

This issue is observed in environments after upgrading to specific versions of AWI, such as v26.0.0.

Cause

The issue typically stems from a validation failure during the save request or insufficient object-level permissions for the user attempting the modification.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

1. Verify Permissions: Ensure the user has full permissions to modify the specific Calendar object. In some versions, the save operation requires explicit write/modify access even if the user can view the object.
2. Logs: If the issue continues, collect the AE and AWI logs while reproducing the error to identify the specific validation failure in the communication layer.
