Error: "Services are not available for this namespace, try again later or check with your administrator" in VCFA where there are users without an email

Issue/Introduction

• Error: "Services are not available for this namespace, try again later or check with your administrator" is seen in the Services view for the namespace in VCFA
• There are users in the organization which both:
  • have their username in email format user@domain
  • and do not have the email field propagated

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation Automation 9.x

Cause

VCFA has certain requirements regarding user details which need to be fulfilled.

Resolution

One of the following approaches can be used to work around the issue:

• set the email field for the users 
  or
• update the username to be the actual username and set the email field in the Active Directory

After one of the updates above, the project should be updated by removing and re-adding the users. The sync will start automatically and it can take up to 2 minutes.

 

If you cannot change the AD config immediately, a short-term workaround is to remove affected users from the project.
