Issue/Introduction

When trying In VCF Operations  9.1 initiate an ESXi upgrade using the SDDC Manager, the following issues may be observed:

• Error displayed via: Build > Lifecycle > VCF Instance > Domains > Components versions  "There are no images available that match the required target version to initiate the vLCM upgrade".

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow the corrected steps below to properly trigger the ESXi upgrade:

1. Configure Images in vCenter, before attempting the upgrade in VCF Operations, navigate to vCenter Lifecycle Manager and ensure the target ESXi image is configured, including any necessary vendor add-ons. Working with Image Library.
2. Log into the VCF Operations user interface.
3.  Select Build > Lifecycle and click on your VCF Instance (do not select the management domain directly).
4. Select Image Management: Once within the VCF Instance view, select Image Management to initiate the upgrade for the target ESXi hosts.
