Host serial number returns Null in SDDC API

Issue/Introduction

When querying the GET /v1/hosts API call in the SDDC Manager Developer Center returns NULL for the host serial number.
This occurs in VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 on physical servers, such as Lenovo hardware, even when the serial number is correctly displayed in the vSphere UI summary.

The serial number remains fully accessible directly through vCenter/vSphere (via the UI, govc, PowerCLI, or MOB)

Environment

VCF 9.x
VCF 5.x

Cause

The serialNumber field is not currently populated for standard VCF ESXi hosts via the SDDC Manager API, in any supported VCF version. 

Resolution

Currently there is no workaround available directly via the SDDC Manager API.
The serial number remains fully accessible directly through vCenter/vSphere (via the UI, govc, PowerCLI, or MOB)
