Issue/Introduction

A job entered the CA 7 queue 700 times while upgrading CA 7 from one environment to other environment.  Attempted to cancel the jobs with: CANCEL,JOB=JOBA,REASON=SKELETON,FORCE=YES
Got this message: SPO6-12 - cannot cancel job =JOBA - DUPLICATE JOBNAMES

Environment

Release:
Component: 7

Cause

More than one job with the same name in the queues.

Resolution

When there is more than one job in the queues with the same job name, you must do the CANCEL command by CA 7 job number (one at a time). You can do an XQ,JOB=jobname,FILL=C to bring back the XQJ screen with a C in front of the jobs that you want to cancel, but IF those jobs are in SKELETON status, then you must perform the CANCEL one at a time by CA 7 job number.
