Issue/Introduction

How do I set Message Suppression ON or OFF with Distributed Repository Access System (DRAS)?

Environment

  • Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
  • Output Management Distributed Repository Access System (DRAS)

Resolution

  • To turn OFF message suppression dynamically, issue the console command:
    /f cadras,set message supp(off)
  • To turn ON message suppression dynamically, issue the console command:
    /f cadras,set message supp(on)

This will take effect immediately and will be in effect until you recycle DRAS.

  • DRAS Message suppression can be changed permanently in the configuration file pointed to by the DRASCFG card in the DRAS JCL, where it will remain in effect until changed, by specifying SET  MESSAGE SUPP(OFF|ON) in the configuration file
    • Find the configuration file specified in your DRAS JLC:
      //DRASCFG  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=VIEW.R14.CBY3OPTN(CAHFDCFG)
    • Edit that file to read: SET  MESSAGE SUPP(OFF) or SET  MESSAGE SUPP(ON)
    • Recycle DRAS.
