When creating a Data Service Policy in VMware Data Services Manager (DSM) 9.1, users may observe that some configured Infrastructure Policies are missing from the selection list during Phase 4 (Infrastructure).
Typically, only policies configured with a Single-Zone are visible, while policies configured with Multi-Zones do not appear in the "Allowed Infrastructure Policies" section.
VMware Data Services Manager 9.1
This issue is due to a product limitation in DSM 9.1. The current version does not support the creation of Data Service Policies using Infrastructure Policies that contain multi-zone configurations. The UI and backend logic are restricted to single-zone policy attributes only.
This issue is scheduled to be resolved in the DSM 9.1.1 release, which will introduce native support for multi-zone infrastructure policies.
If you need to deploy Data Service Policies in a DSM 9.1 environment before the 9.1.1 update is available:
Create a new Infrastructure Policy specifically configured for a Single-Zone.
Ensure the policy is active and associated with the correct workload domain.
Return to the Data Service Policy wizard; the new single-zone policy will now be visible for selection.
Monitor the Broadcom Support portal for the release of VMware Data Services Manager 9.1.1.
Upgrade your DSM Provider appliance to version 9.1.1.
Once upgraded, all existing and new multi-zone infrastructure policies will be available in the Data Service Policy configuration workflow.
