Nutanix_monitor probe slowness and long template load times during configuration

Issue/Introduction

The monitoring probe may experience significant performance degradation during configuration and resource discovery. Users often encounter extreme delays when loading templates in the Admin Console or searching for specific Nutanix resources.

Symptoms include:

• Monitoring templates take an hour or more to load in the Admin Console configuration window.
• The search box in the configuration UI fails to return results for existing servers.
• Probe logs contain the error:

  Reaching this point is an indication that the scheme or monitor definition was built incorrectly.

Environment

• DX UIM 23.4+
• nutanix_monitor probe 2.00 and lower

Cause

In versions 2.00 and earlier, the probe performed data collection and inventory synchronization sequentially. In large environments, this single-threaded approach causes a bottleneck, leading to timeouts in the configuration UI and internal definition errors.

Resolution

The performance issues and API v4 compatibility limitations have been resolved in version 3.00 of the probe. This version introduces multi-threaded data collection, allowing connections and inventory updates to occur in parallel.

To resolve the slowness, perform the following steps:

1. Download the nutanix_monitor probe (version 3.00) from the probe archive to your local archive.
2. Deploy the new version to the robot where the monitoring will occur.
