Automatically disable Symantec VIP Manager administrators

Issue/Introduction

VIP administrators can be automatically set to disabled if they do not sign in to VIP Manager within a specified number of days (15 days to 730 days). Disabled administrators cannot sign in to VIP Manager and cannot perform actions in the account. 

Once disabled, only another administrator with the correct permissions can enable that administrator. Once enabled, the administrator has until the inactivity threshold configured in this policy to sign in before they are disabled again.

 

Resolution

1. Log into VIP Manager
2. Navigate to the Polices tab, then select the Components subtab.
3. Click Edit at the top-right.
4. Scroll down to the VIP Manager section. 
5. Set Automatically disable administrators to No successful authentication for _____ and set the number of idle days before deactivation.
6. Click Save.
