Error: org/apache/commons/lang3/StringUtils when accessing IG.REST Agent Web Server tab

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Automation Engine 24.4.0, users may encounter a Java class error when attempting to access the Web Server tab for IG.REST agents or their communication objects within the Automic Web Interface (AWI).

Symptoms

When navigating to the Web Server tab of an IG.REST agent in the Automic Web Interface (AWI), the following error occurs: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/lang3/StringUtils

• Agent jobs execute successfully.
• The error appears specifically on the Web Server tab and Communication objects.
• Issue persists after upgrading to Automation Engine 24.4.0 and IG.REST 24.2.0

 

Environment

• Automic Automation Engine (AE) 24.4.0

• Integration REST (IG.REST) Agent 24.2.0

• Automic Web Interface (AWI) 24.4.0

• Apache Tomcat 10.1

• Java 17

Cause

The AWI classpath is missing the Apache Commons Lang 3 (org.apache.commons.lang3) library following the upgrade of AWI 24.4.0, needed by IG.REST 24.2.0. 

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Automic Automation version 24.4.3 or higher.
