The AS400 Consloe Event does not detect the “Message ID” when the “Message Filter” contains some string

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the Automation Engine (AE) and AS400 agent to version 24.x, the AS400 Consloe Event does not detect the “Message ID” when the “Message Filter” contains some string as shown below. As a result, the Event Process is not executed.

 

Environment

• Automation Engine version 24.x
• AS400 Agent version 24.x

Cause

This issue is under investigation as a potential product defect (DE208961) related to how the agent retrieves message substitution data for console events in version 24.x

Workaround

If a fix is required immediately, implement the following configuration change:

1. Open the Console Event object in the Automation Engine.
2. Locate the Message Filter field.
3. Replace any specific strings or variables in the Message Filter field with an asterisk (*).
4. Save the object and monitor for successful execution.
