Error: "LCMVROPSYSTEM25050" when inventory sync fails in VCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

Inventory synchronization fails in VCF Operations.

The following error code displays in the user interface or log files:

Error Code: LCMVROPSYSTEM25050
Operations Root password is invalid for the given address. Retry with correct credentials
SSH authorization failed with provided root password for <VCF_Operations_node_hostname>. Verify the credentials and retry.

This behavior occurs after an upgrade from version 8.18.x to 9.0.2.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.2

Cause

After an upgrade from version 8.18.x to 9.0.2, the Lifecycle (LCM) user interface is no longer available. The outdated root password for VCF Operations remains stored in the backend database and disrupts the inventory synchronization workflow.

Resolution

Follow these steps to implement the workaround:

1. Navigate to Fleet Management > Lifecycle > Tasks in the VCF Operations user interface.
2. Select the failed task associated with error code LCMVROPSYSTEM25050.
3. Click RETRY located on the right side under the error code.
4. Enter the current root password for the node and click SUBMIT.
