Issue/Introduction

I use the NSM CAWTO command to send a message from AP to OPS/MVS. I want to migrate to use the OPS/MVS interface due to the pending NSM Interface EOL in September 2017. With CAWTO, we have no message-length limitation, but with ADDRESS OPS I have a length limitation:

-ADDRESS OPER (Command 126 bytes)
-ADDRESS OPS "OSFTSO .... (REXX LIMITATION 320)
-ADDRESS OPS WTO (TEXT 126 bytes )

Is there another solution to send a message from Automation Point to OPS/MVS without the above command/message-length limitation?

Environment

Release: AP327020100-11.5-Automation Point-3270/5250 Interface Option

Resolution

Unfortunately, there is no method for circumventing the length limitations using the OPS/MVS interface. My suggestion is to continue using CAWTO as this will remain supported until September 30, 2017. Meanwhile, please post an enhancement request as an IDEA on the Event Management & Automation User Community forum, so that Product Management can consider adjusting the command length limitations on the OPS/MVS side.
