UVMS 7.01.14 Secondary Failover installation fails with "unable to configure the UVMS" error

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to install a Secondary Failover Management Server for UVMS 7.01.14 (or other 7.01.xx versions) on Windows, the installation fails during the UVMS configuration phase.

The installer returns the following error:
SEVERE_ERROR MESSAGE= "unable to configure the UVMS"

The UVMS_ISS_installation.log or console may display misleading errors such as:

• "The system cannot find the batch label specified - erreur_usage"
• "Java error: unable to find JVM location"

Environment

• Product: CA Automic Dollar Universe (UVMS)
• Version: 7.01.xx (Identified in 7.01.14 and 7.01.11)
• OS: Windows Server 

Cause

A product defect in the uniinstall_failover.cmd script used by the 7.01.xx installers prevents the correct configuration of the secondary node when connecting to the primary UVMS server. 

Resolution

This issue is scheduled to be fixed in UVMS version 7.01.31.

Workaround
To complete the installation using the current 7.01.xx installer, you must manually replace the uniinstall_failover.cmd script during the installation process:

1. Start the Installer: Launch the UVMS 7.01.14 installation wizard on the secondary server.
2. Monitor the Temp Directory:
   • Open your %TEMP% folder.
   • Watch the UVMS_ISS_installation.log for a line containing a path similar to:
     ...\{GUID}\{1A3EA53C-9466-4547-9BDE-525B8F637A99}\
3. Replace the Script:
   • Navigate to the folder identified above (under {1A3EA53C-9466-4547-9BDE-525B8F637A99}).
   • Locate the file uniinstall_failover.cmd.
   • Replace it with the patched version attached).
4. Resume Installation: Return to the installation wizard and click Next to proceed with the configuration. The installer should now successfully connect to the primary UVMS and complete the setup.
