Authorization error: Unauthorized Access message displayed when accessing SDDC or VCF Instances in VCF Operations UI

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to access SDDC Manager or VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) instances from the VCF Operations > Fleet Management > Lifecycle, the connection fails.

The UI displays the following error message:

Authorization Error : Unauthorized Access.
There is a restriction with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.2

Cause

The VMware Cloud Foundation adapter under Administration > Integrations is in a warning collection state.

Resolution

1. Navigate to Infrastructure Operations > Configurations > Inventory Management

2. Clear any previously applied filters

3. Expand Adapter Instances and click on the VMware Cloud Foundation section

4. Click on the adapter to highlight it

5. Click the Stop Collecting button (square icon) in the tool bar and wait for the Collection State to change to Not Collecting

   Tip: Hover the cursor over the icon in the Collection State column to see the current state

6. Click the adapter instance to select it and click the Start Collecting button (triangle icon) in the tool bar

7. Verify the Collection State changes to Collecting

   Tip: It may be necessary to click the Refresh button (circle arrow icon) in the top right corner of the window to update current status.
