Issue/Introduction

When navigating to Tenant view > Virtual Private Clouds > General, you may observe the following symptoms:

  • The IP quota status displays "Limit Reached (1 of 1)", even if the tenant has not consumed all available public IPs.

  • The Applied quota usage shows a lower number of IPs used (e.g., 1 out of 5) compared to the actual total number of IPs currently used by the tenant across the environment (e.g., 3 out of 5).

Environment

  • VCF Automation 9.1

  • VMware Cloud Foundation

Cause

This is expected behavior.

The "Limit Reached (1 of 1)" status triggers, for 1 limit, when either the CIDR limit or the Single IP limit is reached. If the CIDR limit is set to 0 and the usage is 0, the system considers the CIDR limit reached, resulting in this display.

Resolution

Because this is expected behavior, no product fix or configuration change is needed.

To view and verify the complete and accurate IP block usage for the entire tenant organization, you must use the IPAllocation page:

  1. Navigate to the IPAllocation page in the UI.

  2. Check the usage information for the specific IPBlock (e.g., site2-public) under the applicable tenant organization (e.g., Automation-org). This view provides the accurate aggregate total of all IPs consumed across the tenant.
