ActiveMQ Broker service fails to start with Adopt OpenJDK 8u492 or higher - CA PAM SC

Issue/Introduction

CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAM SC) Enterprise Management (ENTM) components may fail to start after upgrading the Java environment to newer releases of Adopt OpenJDK 8.

The "CA PAM SC ActiveMQ Broker" service fails to start. When attempting to start the service via PowerShell, the following error occurs:

Start-Service : Failed to start service 'CA PAM SC ActiveMQ Broker (CA-PIM-ActiveMQ-Broker)'.

Wildfly may also cycle through start and stop states repeatedly.

Environment

Product: CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAM SC)
Component: Enterprise Management Server (ENTM)
Java: Adopt OpenJDK 8u492b09 and later
OS: Windows

Cause

Compatibility issues have been identified between the ENTM components and Adopt OpenJDK versions starting with release 8u492. Version 8u462b08 is the last known working release.

Resolution

Active development on ENTM components has been discontinued. No further compatibility updates or certifications will be released for this component.

To resolve this issue and maintain a supported environment, migrate to OnePAM (PAM+UTA) for endpoint management.
