Issue/Introduction

Running df -h shows the root partition /dev/mapper/vg_root_0-lv_root_0 and  /storage/containers/vc-ws1a-broker are both at 100% capacity.

Environment

vCenter 7.X
vCenter 8.X

Cause

Issue can occur after a vCenter upgrade, update bundles fail to auto-delete and can increase in volume if left in the directory. This issue usually happens when multiple bundles are mistakenly installed or had had multiple upgrade failures. 

Resolution

Remove the old bundles from  /etc/vmware-vpx/bundle-stage directory using the rm command.

cd /etc/vmware-vpx/bundle-stage

Ensure that only the vcenter upgrade bundles are in the directory before removal
