Unable to create version from ARD Hub side

Issue/Introduction

Users are unable to create new versions of flows directly from the ARD Hub user interface. The "Create Version" action may fail to respond or complete successfully within the web browser.

Product: CA Agile Requirements Designer (ARD) 

Version: 3.6 

Component: ARD Hub

Cause

This issue is caused by a product defect in the ARD Hub UI component. A specific fix is required for the ard#ui.war file to restore versioning functionality within the Hub side.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, apply the ard-ui-3-6-patch.zip which contains an updated UI component.

Steps to apply the fix:

1. Stop the ARD Apache Tomcat service on the Hub server.
2. Navigate to the Tomcat installation directory, specifically the webapps folder (e.g., C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 9.0\webapps).
3. Locate the existing ard#ui.war file and the corresponding ard#ui folder.
4. Backup the existing ard#ui.war file by moving it to a directory outside of the Tomcat folder.
5. Copy the new ard#ui.war file from the extracted patch into the webapps folder.
6. Start the ARD Apache Tomcat service. Tomcat will automatically redeploy the new WAR file.
7. Verify the fix by attempting to create a version from the ARD Hub UI.

Note: It is highly recommended to upgrade to ARD Hub version 3.6.0.61 or later, which includes this fix natively.
