Issue/Introduction
This article explains the expected behavior for AppNeta Monitoring Point (MP) availability alerts and provides steps to ensure notification profiles are correctly synchronized.
Environment
AppNeta SaaS
All Monitoring Point models
Cause
Built-in Delay: By design, email notifications for "MP Connection" events are only sent if the device remains unavailable for 90 minutes or more.
Sync Issue: Newly created Monitoring Points or updated notification profiles may occasionally fail to sync with the alerting engine immediately.
Resolution
To ensure alerts are received for Monitoring Point connectivity events:
Observe the 90-minute threshold: Notifications are sent 90 minutes after the initial disconnect. Tests shorter than 90 minutes will not trigger an email.
Force Profile Synchronization:
Navigate to Alerts > Notification Profiles.
Locate the profile assigned to the Monitoring Point.
Open the profile and click Save (even if no changes were made). This forces a refresh of the synchronization state.
Verify Configuration:
Ensure the Monitoring Point is assigned to an Alert Profile with MP Connection events enabled.
Confirm a Delivery Group is attached to that Alert Profile.
Check the Monitoring Point status page to ensure the device is not Muted (bell icon with a slash).
