Red Hat multipath -ll only shows one vSAN iSCSI target path

Issue/Introduction

When running the command multipath -ll via Red Hat Guest OS only one vSAN iSCSI path is shown, when X amount of paths should be seen based on X nodes in the vSAN cluster.

For example an 8 node vSAN cluster should have 8 vSAN iSCSI paths within the Guest OS. 

Inspection of the vSAN iSCSI configuration and vSAN Health Service shows no issues with the vSAN iSCSI configuration. 

Environment

VMware vSAN iSCSI (All Versions)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Guest OS

Cause

The vSAN iSCSI target IPs for all vSAN nodes  are not configured within the Red Hat guest OS multipathing configuration. To ensure proper communication and pathing to the LUN, all vSAN iSCSI target IPs need to be configured within the Guest OS. 

Resolution

• Identify all required vSAN iSCSI target IPs for the hosts within the vSAN cluster.

• Add the missing vSAN iSCSI target IPs to the iSCSI initiator configuration on the Red Hat Guest OS.
