vCenter Communication Failure with ESXi Hosts due to Duplicate License Records in vCF Operations

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading vCenter and ESXi hosts to version 9.1.0, an ESXi host shows as disconnected in vCenter. Attempts to reconnect or re-add the host fail with licensing errors, even after management services are restarted on the host.

Environment

VCF 9.1

Cause

A defect causing duplicate license usage records between legacy and version 9.x licenses in the vCF Operations database (`vcopsdb`), specifically within the `vcf_license_server_assets` table.

Contact Broadcom support for assistance in addressing the vcops database inconsistency.
