Kubernetes Clusters Not Visible in VCF Automation Tenant Portal

Issue/Introduction

When navigating to VCFA Tenant Portal > Manage & Govern > Kubernetes Management > Clusters, No viewable clusters are populated. You'll not be able to see any clusters listed in this page, though the VKS Clusters have been already deployed.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Supervisor Management Proxy service has not been deployed or is improperly configured, preventing the communication between the auto-attach service that runs in the Supervisor and the VKS cluster management feature in VCF Automation.

Resolution

Configuring the Supervisor Management Proxy to Enable VKS Cluster Management. So that the auto-attach service and VKS cluster management can function properly, you must deploy the Supervisor management proxy with specific configuration in the YAML file.

1. From the official Broadcom Support Portal, download the 

   Supervisor

   Management Proxy YAML manifest file(supervisor-management-proxy.yml).
2. In your 

   vCenter

    instance, navigate to 

   Supervisor Management

   Services

    and click the 

   New service

    tile.

   Verify that vSphere Supervisor Control Plane VM is not of Small size.
3. Upload the 

   Supervisor

    Management Proxy YAML.
4. Configure the 

   Supervisor

    Management Proxy service for a selected 

   Supervisor

   .

    
   1. Select the 

      Supervisor Management Proxy

       service.
   2. Select 

      Action

      Manage Service

      .
   3. Select the 

      Supervisor

       for which you want to configure the 

      Supervisor

       Management Proxy service.
   4. Use the following configuration for the YAML file(replace the FQDN with your VCF Automation instance):

       vksmHTTPRemoteEndpoint:
        host: <vcfa-FQDN>
        port: 443
      vksmAPIPort: 10094 

       
5. Navigate to VCFA Tenant Portal > Manage & Govern > Kubernetes Management > Clusters, you'll be able to see the clusters.
