Issue/Introduction

Inconsistencies in VMware Cloud Director (VCD) where the VCD UI reports a higher number of vApps/VMs than are actually present in the Organization VDC (OrgVDC) inventory. This occurs specifically following the replication of VMs / presence of the RT_VMs via VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA). The issue is characterized by orphan RT vApps/VMs that were deleted from VCDA but remain present in the VCD database and vCenter.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7.x

Cause

This issue is caused by a synchronization failure / issue between VCDA and VCD. The Replication_Tracking VMs (RT_VMs) are deleted from the VCDA UI and VCDA database, but they are not properly cleaned up from the VCD database and vCenter, leading to orphan entries that cause display discrepancies in the VCD UI

Resolution

Resolving this issue requires a VCD database modification. Please reach out to Broadcom Support for further assistance.
