Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to clarify the supportability and usage of Parallel Remediation within vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM) when managed hosts are part of a vSAN cluster.

Resolution

When managing the lifecycle of a vSAN-enabled cluster using vLCM, Parallel Remediation option is not supported.
Adhere to the following operational guidelines:

  • Remediation Method : Update or patch vSAN clusters using the sequential remediation process. This ensures only one host enters maintenance mode at a time, allowing vSAN to manage data synchronization and component health.
  • Reference Documentation : For detailed procedural steps and specific remediation behaviors in vSAN environments, refer to:Remediation Specifics of vSAN Clusters
