Error: "Failed to send task to Collector with id: 2" when editing VCF adapter instance

Issue/Introduction

• In VCF Operations UI, under Operate > Administration > Integrations > VMware Cloud Foundation, VCF Instance adapter is in a "Warning" status with "Collecting" state and "Collector down" status.

 

• Enter editing page shows error "Failed to send task to Collector with id: 2".

 

Environment

VCF 9.1.0.0

Cause

• Default collector group was selected for the adapter.
• When upgrading to VCF 9.1, must assign any newly deployed cloud proxy to the VCF instance and underlying vCenter adapters.

 

Resolution

1. Log in to VCF Operations UI, navigate to Operate > Administration > Integrations.
2. Click on the 3-dot next to the VCF instance and edit it.
3. Replace the Default collector group with the new Cloud Proxy.
4. Repeat Step 3 for the vCenter adapters under the VCF instance.
