Issue/Introduction

  • The Orchestrator Management Pack Plugin fails to integrate and authenticate with basic authentication.
  • The environment was recently upgraded to 9.0.x

Environment

  • VCF Automation 9.0.x
  • VCF Operations 9.0.x
  • Orchestrator running in embedded mode.

Cause

The authentication mechanism for the Orchestrator Management Pack has changed in the VCF 9.0 release. Legacy basic authentication is no longer functional for this integration; it now strictly requires a Service Account Refresh Token.

Resolution

  1. Create a Service Account Refresh Token in the VCF environment.
  2. Configure the Orchestrator Management Pack adapter instance using the newly generated Service Account Refresh Token.
  3. Manually re-apply all discovered actions to the appropriate objects within VCF Operations.
  4. Review all existing recommendations and reselect the appropriate remediation actions for each recommendation.
  5. Verify the active policy and ensure the enforcement state is set to 'automated'.
