Issue/Introduction

When utilizing VMware Cloud Director (VCD) 10.6.1.2, you experience the following symptoms:

  • A destination site is unable to synchronize a published catalog.

  • The catalog sync fails after a vApp template is copied from a shared catalog into a new catalog and subsequently published.

  • If catalogs are not syncing from publisher catalog to the subscriber catalog in older versions on Cloud Director, please refer this KB.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the catalog_item.source_uri database entry is not properly nullified during a copy operation from a shared catalog.

While a previous fix correctly cleared the source_uri when copying items from a subscribed catalog, it did not account for items originating from a shared catalog. Because the target item retains this invalid or unreachable source URI, the destination site's synchronization mechanism fails to process the catalog item.

Resolution

This issue is a known issue and is set to fixed in future release. To resolve this issue, contact Broadcom Support and note this Article ID (418758) in the problem description. For more information, see Creating and managing Broadcom support cases.
