Where is the WTOEXIT executed from? Can we issue DCMT V PROG WTOEXIT NEW COPY to change it?

Issue/Introduction

Question: 

We made some changes to the WTOEXIT. When we display program WTOEXIT with DCMT, it is not found. 

Where is the WTOEXIT executed from?

Can we issue DCMT V PROG WTOEXIT  NEW COPY to change it?

 

Answer: 

There are 2 ways to load the WTOEXIT: 

• Linkedit the WTOEXIT  into module IDMSUXIT 
• Linkedit it as a stand-alone load module and specify its name on the WTOEXIT= parm in the PARM statement of the startup JCL. 
  

You can use the DCPROFIL task to find out where the WTOEXIT is located. 

IDMSUXIT cannot be varied to new copy.

If it is linkedited standalone no PDE is created for it so you can't vary it to new copy either.

The only way to change the WTOEXIT is to restart the CV.
