Google Cloud updated its serverless offering, rebranding and consolidating Cloud Functions under Cloud Run functions. However, in CloudHealth, GCP Cost Summary and Cost History reports currently display "Cloud Functions" and "Cloud Run Functions" as two distinct services.
CloudHealth's underlying service mapping for GCP Cost Summary and Cost History reports has not yet been updated to combine these SKUs under a single service name. As a result, usage and cost metrics appear split across both service categories.
To ensure complete visibility across all serverless function costs, use the following guidelines based on your reporting tool:
When creating or viewing GCP Cost Summary or Cost History reports, filter by Cloud Products or Categories and explicitly select both "Cloud Functions" and "Cloud Run Functions" to capture all historical and current spend.
FlexReports uses raw billing data rather than CloudHealth's mapped SKUs. Because of this, only Cloud Run Functions appears under the main Service or Services dimension.
To locate historical Cloud Functions data, look under SkuDescription or ProductCategoryDescription, depending on your dataset:
GCP BigQuery Billing Export: Navigate to Dimensions → Service → ServiceDescription & SkuDescription.
GCP FOCUS Cost and Usage: Navigate to Dimensions → Services → ServiceName & ProductCategoryDescription.
This enhancement request has been submitted to the Product Management team to unify these services in standard reports. Currently, there is no estimated time of arrival (ETA) for roadmap release.
