Issue/Introduction

When attempting to install or upgrade AutoSys Workload Automation (e.g., version 24.1), the installation fails during the database validation or scheduler component setup with the following error:

Error: [CAUAJM_E_112507] The "[Instance Name]" database schema is at a higher version.

The installer may keep repeating the same error, preventing the installation from completing.

Environment

Product: AutoSys Workload Automation
Version: All versions
Component: Installer

Cause

The target database (AEDB) contains a schema version that is more recent than the software version being installed. This typically occurs in LAB or Test environments if a newer version of AutoSys (e.g., 24.2) was previously installed and the database was not fully cleared before attempting to install an older version (e.g., 24.1).

Resolution

To resolve this, the database must be reset to a clean state:

  1. Engage your Database Administrator (DBA).
  2. Drop and recreate the AEDB database instance to ensure it is completely empty.
  3. Verify that no previous AutoSys schema objects remain.
  4. Re-run the AutoSys installer.
