Issue/Introduction

Fails to complete an inventory synchronization for VCF Operations for Networks in VCF Operations with error code LCMVRNICONFIG90045, and the following error message:

Failed to get CSRF token for Operations-networks. Validate if the IP Address, credentials are correct and all services are running.

Environment

  • VCF Operations 9.0.x

  • VCF Operations for Networks 9.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs because Fleet Manager utilizes the default administrator user account (admin@local) to authenticate and execute the inventory synchronization workflow with VCF Operations for Networks. If the password for admin@local on the target appliance is incorrect or has been modified out-of-band, the authentication sequence fails, preventing Fleet Manager from obtaining the security CSRF token needed to proceed.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, update admin@local credentials in VCF Operations for Networks and re-run the sync operation:

  1.  Follow KB article to update admin@local password in VCF Operations for Networks.
  2. Login to VCF Operations ui and go to Fleet Management > Lifecycle. Select Failed Tasks, click on the value under the Request Status column which opens the task workflow.
  3. Click Retry and choose the correct password alias, then Submit
  4. Monitor the task until it completes.
