VDS DVS port cannot be found

Issue/Introduction

Reconnecting or adding a host to inventory fails with error "VDS DVS port C[port] cannot be found" 

Environment

vSphere 7.X
vSphere 8.x

Cause

 When the host was removed from inventory the vcenter disassociated it to the DVS. Possibly changing the host id, the C[port] in the command usually indicates a conflict port. 

Resolution

Re-add the host to the Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS) using the Add and Manage Hosts wizard, ensuring all previous configurations and networking settings are identical.
