Issue/Introduction

Users migrating from legacy versions of CA Harvest Software Change Manager may have existing reports created in Crystal Reports. As the product has transitioned to BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools), an automated conversion path is often requested to migrate SQL definitions and report layouts.

Environment

CA Harvest Change Manager 14.5.x and higher

Cause

This is a product limitation. The architectures and file formats between Crystal Reports and BIRT are fundamentally different, preventing a direct automated conversion.

Resolution

There is no automated conversion tool available to convert existing Crystal Reports to BIRT reports. Reports must be manually re-created using the BIRT Reporting plugin.
