Issue/Introduction

Re-configuration of the Identity Provider (IdP) within the Ops Manager tile results in the loss of foundation data visibility within the Hub interface. Manage tabs and capabilities fail to populate, preventing administrative tasks for the attached foundation.

Environment

Tanzu Platform Hub and Ops Manager.

Cause

The re-configuration of the Identity Provider in Ops Manager triggers a complete reset of the UAA (User Account and Authentication) database. This reset effectively removes the valid Ops Manager client credentials established during the initial foundation-to-Hub attach process, breaking the secure connection between the two services.

Resolution

R&D is working to resolve this issue in future versions. In the meantime, as a workaround, to restore connectivity:

  1. Remove the affected foundation from the Hub.
  2. Complete all necessary Identity Provider configurations within Ops Manager.
  3. Re-attach the foundation to the Hub using the established attach flow.
  4. Verify that data populates correctly within the Manage tab.
