Issue/Introduction

After upgrading VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations to version 9.1, the following symptoms occur:

  • The VCF Operations registration page displays an alert: Unable to connect to VCF Business Service. Check your network connection.
  • The Licensing page shows Reporting Mode: Connected.
  • Network connectivity tests via SSH (e.g., curl -vk https://vcf.broadcom.com:443 and curl -vk https://eapi.broadcom.com:443) are successful.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.1

Cause

This issue can occur due to a synchronization or state mismatch in the reporting service following the upgrade.

It may also be triggered by intermittent network blockage to Broadcom licensing endpoints.

Resolution

To resolve this alert and refresh the connection state, perform the following steps in the VCF Operations UI:

  1. Log in to the VCF Operations administration console.
  2. Navigate to the Licensing or Registration settings page.
  3. Locate the Reporting Mode setting.
  4. Toggle the mode from Connected to Disconnected.
  5. Wait for the state to update, then toggle the mode back to Connected.
  6. Refresh the page or check the registration status; the alert should no longer be displayed.

Confirm that the alert Unable to connect to VCF Business Service has disappeared and that the Reporting Mode remains Connected.
