When HSM is integrated and firmware updates service pack is provided as per the example below:
Host/Cluster remediation goes through successfully from the vSphere Client however, firmware is still listed as not compliant on some of the components on some/all hosts: Compliance Scan of host-## is Completed. Result is NON-COMPLIANT.
(Number/Name(s) of Firmware components may differ.)
Upon checking the firmware version for the component on the hardware console, it still shows the old version (confirming that the firmware was not updated)
/var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server/hsm-service.log shows the non-compliance as well:
"messages": ["Compliance Scan of HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port #### Adapter - NIC is NON-COMPLIANT."], "systemComponent": {"description": "HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port #### Adapter - NIC", "id": "######-####", "name": "HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port #### Adapter - NIC", "type": "EXTERNAL"}
vLCM is operating as designed; it is correctly identifying the failure. The underlying issue resides with the HSM (HPE OneView/Dell OpenManage).
Please open a support case with the vendor according to the HSM plugin used. For eg., for HPE OneView, open a SR with HPE
