Issue/Introduction

Confirming compatibility between mainframe workload automation environments and IBM CICS Transaction Server (TS) 6.2.

This article addresses maintenance requirements, functional dependencies, and lifecycle support (EOS) for Release 12.1 during environment upgrades.

Is the current release of Workload Automation compatible with IBM CICS Transaction Server (TS) 6.2, and are there specific maintenance requirements or End of Service (EOS) dates?

Resolution

1. Compatibility Status: Release 12.1 is fully compatible with IBM CICS Transaction Server 6.2.
2. Functional Dependency: The product does not directly depend on or interface with the CICS Transaction Server. Consequently, upgrading to CICS TS v6.2 will not impact the environment.
3. Maintenance: No additional compatibility PTFs or maintenance are required for this specific CICS upgrade.
4. Lifecycle Support:
   • Supported Version: Release 12.1 remains the current supported release.
   • End of Support (EOS): There is currently no End of Service date announced for Release 12.1.
