Issue/Introduction

  • After upgrading Aria Operations to a 8.18.7 version, all the nodes have high CPU usage.
  • You have an alert in vCenter about high CPU usage on the Aria Operations nodes.
  • Aligned collection cycles for configured adapter instances were disrupted by stopping and restarting with a 1-2 minute delay.
  • All the Aria Operations nodes have the same size.
  • The cluster is correctly sized based on the numbers of objects.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.7

Cause

The database tables "hd_resource_relationship_history", "alarm" and "hd_resource_property_history"  are bloated causing database performance issues and consequently the high CPU usage on all the nodes.

Resolution

The workaround for this issue requires modification of the Aria Operations database.
