Issue/Introduction

When applying maintenance to a new or existing installation of CA 11, the APPLY job fails with the following error:

GIM54502E ** ALLOCATION FAILED FOR CD51XML BECAUSE THERE IS NO DD STATEMENT IN THE JCL AND NO DDDEF ENTRY IN TARGET ZONE.

Resolution

To resolve this issue,  ensure that only maintenance for the components currently installed in your environment is selected for download.

  1. Log in to the Broadcom Support Portal.
  2. Navigate to Download for Solutions.
  3. Search for the CA 11 product.
  4. In the Select Components pulldown menu, ensure that only CA 11 is selected.
    • Note: Deselect optional components like GTS if they are not utilized at your site.
  5. Download the new, refined maintenance package.
  6. Receive and Apply the updated maintenance.

If you intend to use GTS, you  must first install the GTS FMID and run the appropriate SAMPJCL members provided with the GTS component to define the CD51XML DDDEF in your target zone.

Once the environment is prepared, you can proceed with applying the maintenance
