VMware Aria Automation 8.18.x deployment precheck within Aria Suite Lifecycle fails saying the network selected does not exist

Issue/Introduction

You are installing VMware Aria Automation and get all the way to the Precheck, but it fails with a message indicating that the network you selected does not exist. The network is visibly populated from vCenter and can be selected from the drop-down menu in the UI, but the precheck continues to fail.

Environment

• VMware Aria Automation 8.18.1

• VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.0 Patch 8

Cause

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle holds cached or out-of-sync inventory data for the target vCenter Server, causing the precheck to fail validation of the selected network.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

2. Navigate to the datacenter inventory and run a datacenter inventory collection for the respective vCenter.

3. Cancel the existing deployment workflow that failed the precheck.

4. Start a new VMware Aria Automation deployment workflow.

5. Proceed through the configuration and select the desired network; the precheck will now succeed.
