Issue/Introduction

When trying to apply the LU20859 vulnerability fix, the following errors occur:

GIM30206E ** APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD LU20859. HOLD REASON IDS WERE NOT RESOLVED.
GIM35907I    PREREQUISITE SYSMOD LU20226 FAILED.

GIM30206E ** APPLY PROCESSING FAILED FOR SYSMOD LU20226. HOLD REASON IDS WERE NOT RESOLVED.
GIM35901I    ERROR HOLD AL20226 WAS NOT RESOLVED.

GIM24801S ** NO SYSMODS SATISFIED THE OPERANDS SPECIFIED ON THE APPLY COMMAND.
GIM20501I    APPLY PROCESSING IS COMPLETE. THE HIGHEST RETURN CODE WAS 12.

 

Environment

Cause

One of the PREs was subsequently PE'd

Resolution

LU20859 lists fix LU20226 as a Prerequisite fix.    

LU20226 was subsequently PE'd, and the correcting fix is hiper fix LU20498.   Therefore, LU20498 will need to be applied at the same time, if not already, as LU20859.    

Because LU20226 is listed as a Prerequisite fix, and not a superceded fix, it will also need to be applied.

Before implementing this solution, always refer to the Support Portal Solutions Download and do a search on PTF LU20859 to ensure there is not a subsequent critical fix required.
